    Dr. Kumara is a Allen E. Pearce/Allen M. Pearce Chaired Professor in the Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department. In addition, Dr. Kumara holds a joint appointment with the School of Information Sciences and Technology and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering，the Pennsylvania State University. He receives his Ph.D degree at Purdure University, and his areas are: Intelligent Systems, Sensor Data Fusion, Process Data Monitoring and Diagnostics and Applied Chaos Theory and Logistics. He is Active Member of International Institute of Production Research (CIRP) since August 1996 (one of the 125 active members representing 36 different countries: membership through nomination and election).
